I have absolutely nothing to say about this, other than that it is obviously horrible, and makes me want to scream and throw up at the same time. Land of the free my ass.

BLACK JACK, Missouri (AP) -- The City Council has rejected a measure allowing unmarried couples with multiple children to live together, and the mayor said those who fall into that category could soon face eviction.

The current ordinance prohibits more than three people from living together unless they are related by “blood, marriage or adoption.” The defeated measure would have changed the definition of a family to include unmarried couples with two or more children.

The TOWN’S definition of a family. Damn. This town, for reasons I cannot understand, is somehow allowed to DEFINE the parameters of a family, and then may by way of city ordinance IMPOSE this definition on the residents of the city. These people, these regular, honest, taxpaying people, are NOT ALLOWED TO LIVE TOGETHER unless they submit to a religious ceremony that they clearly do not want. This is wrong on so many levels.

Here is what the statement from Mayor Norman McCourt says: “The purpose of these occupancy permit laws generally is to avoid overcrowding by non-related parties, assure the lifelong maintenance of the city's housing stock, prevent new buyers from being obligated to repair residences that were not kept up to code, preserve the character of the neighborhoods and the city, and to protect the general safety and welfare of the city's residents.”

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Here is what is really going on, straight from the mouth of Rose Curtis, town resident: “As a woman, I'm not going to let a man have babies by me and not marry me,” Curtis said. “I think it was a fair decision. It's cut and dried.”

SEE. Government defining family. The LEGISLATION of social morality. One group’s opinion been made law, and then has been forced onto the lives of everyone else. What’s next, military enforcement of the Nuclear family? Divorce made illegal? They have already banned abortion in South Dakota. FREEDOM ON THE MARCH!
